Summary of domestic stem cell policy in 2020
With the steady development of stem cell research, stem cell technology has shown great potential in the fields of disease treatment, organ transplantation, tissue repair and so on. Our government has also introduced relevant policies and regulations to promote the industrialization of stem cells.
National level
1. In January 2020, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other departments issued the Work Plan for Strengthening Basic Research from 0 to 1.
The Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China issued the Notice on the issuance of the Work Plan for Strengthening the Zero-to-One Basic Research, highlighting original directions for key areas of basic research in major projects and key R&D programs. We will continue to support key fields such as quantum science, brain science, nanoscience, stem cells, synthetic biology, developmental programming, global change and response, protein machines, and cutting-edge research on large scientific devices, and strengthen applied mathematics and cross-cutting research on key mathematical issues in key fields, major projects and other major national strategic needs. We will strengthen deployment in areas such as gravitational waves, extreme manufacturing, catalytic science, physical state regulation, earth system science, and animal models of human diseases, and seize the commanding heights of cutting-edge scientific research.
